Gettman, 80, of Cottonwood, Arizona, born March 5, 1934, in Baltimore, Maryland, passed away Jan. 16, 2015, in Sedona, Arizona. Services will be 1 p.m. Jan. 22, 2015, at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, 303 S. Cortez St., Prescott, Arizona. Gettman passed away on January 16, 2015 in Sedona, AZ. He was born on March 5, 1934 in Baltimore, MD to Albert and Wessie Gettman. James is survived by his sons, Kurt (Helen) Gettman of Sonoma, CA and Blake (Cheri Williams) Gettman of Cottonwood, AZ. Sister, Marylyn(Don) Sutton of Placerville, CA, Sister in Law, Bette (Al) Bieber of Sedona, AZ. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Gail Gettman, his parents and his beloved wife of 54 years Evon Gettman. James served his country in the U.S. Navy, and was a Veteran in the Korean War. James was an IBEW electrician, a Member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Member of the Scottish Rite, The Shriners and The American Legion, Arizona He enjoyed Guns including, trading, collecting and owning. He loved to find a good deal especially when purchasing guns. James liked traveling and having family gatherings. He was very proud of his professional achievements including teaching at Yavapai College and being a Mason.
