WESTER, Jeffrey Howard (Jeff)


Posted in Arizona Daily Star WESTER, Jeffrey H., passed away on April 15, 1999 from complications from heart surgery. Jeff was born on July 25, 1964. He is survived by parents, Gerald and Joy Wester; sisters, Joni Jo (Thomas) Edgar, Jennifer (Sal) Martinez; brothers Jack (Terry) Wester and Jarrold Wester, all of Tucson; also survived by grandmother, Claire WEster; and aunt, Arlene Wasilowski; nephews Johnny (Lendsey) Basteen, Michael Basteen, Brandon Uphaus and Joshua Wester; also niece Heather Basteen; also two great nephews Ashten and Matthew Basteen; cousins, Cynthia (Kevin) Staggs and Michelle and Glennda Staggs. Jeff was also afflicted with Becker Muscular Dystrophy. Despite having MD he was active with off road racing. He was currently working towards a masters degree in Clinical and Rehab Counseling from the University of Arizona. Jeff spent the last eight months in the heart center at UMC on an artificial heart after suffering a heart attack last September. He was an inspiration to all who knew him both at school and off road racing. Jeff was born and raised in Tucson attending Helen Keeling School and Amphi Jr and High School. He worked for Unitronics and National Semi Conductor. After leaving there he attended Pima College and the University of Arizona. He was also a member of the Tucson Bonsai Society. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and caregivers at UMC for all the support and care he received while there, also Muscular Dystrophy Assoc. and Tuff Offroad Racing. Memorial Service will be held at ABBEY FUNERAL CHAPEL, 3435 N. 1st Ave, Saturday, April 17, 1999 at 2:00 p.m.
