WESTER, Jarrold Clark


Posted in Arizona Daily Star, February 24, 2010 WESTER, Jarrold C. 46, passed away at his home on Monday, February 22, 2010. He was a lifelong resident of the Keeling Neighborhood. He attended Helen Keeling Elementary and Amphitheater Jr. and Senior High Schools from which he graduated in 1981. He would further his education at Pima Community College and then the U of A where he earned a BS in Business Administration. He would later work for National Semi-conductor, Intuit, AAFES and MDA. He was honored by the City of Tucson as Handicapped Employee for the year 1984. Despite being wheelchair bound from Muscular Dystrophy he lived a full life. He enjoyed off road racing, was an avid U of A fan, a Raider fan, reading his favorite authors, Dean Koontz and Steven King, power wheel chair soccer, traveling with his friend, most recently to Jamaica and taking his beloved yellow lab Missy for afternoon walks. He was a graduate of the Tucson Police Department Citizen's Academy and then later a volunteer with the Police Department Teen Academy as well as the Citizen's Academy. He also worked with the Pima County Sports Hall of Fame. He was preceded in death by parents, Gerald and Joy Wester, brother, Jeffrey. He is survived by sisters, Joni Jo Edgar (Thomas), Jennifer Martinez (Salvador), brother Jack Wester and Nephew, Joshua Wester all of Tucson; aunt, Arlene Wasilowski of New Mexico; cousin, Cindy Staggs (Kevin) and family, Peoria, AZ; special friends, Gerald and Gloria Lemon of Tucson and Bernadette Brown of Washington, D.C.; and his dog, Missy. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched. The family would like to give special thanks to the Muscular Dystrophy Assoc. for their support over the years. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to MDA in Jarrold's memory. A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, February 27th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at ABBEY FUNERAL CHAPEL, 3435 N. 1st Ave.
