EDGAR, Hugh McKenzie


Posted in Arizona Daily Star Hugh McKenzie Edgar was called home by his Heavenly Father after a brief illness on December 13, 2005. Hugh was born in Detroit, Michigan to Thomas and Mary Edgar on March 16, 1927. He served in the Navy during WWII. He worked as a diesel mechanic both in the Detroit area and later here in Tucson, Arizona. He served as a ruling elder for many years at Desert Springs Presbyterian Church. Hugh was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His life was a testimony of service to the Lord and he loved his family dearly. He will be missed by all who knew him. Hugh was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn and son, Patrick. Survived by his children, Thomas (Joni Jo), Robert (Donna), Jonathon (Dorothy), Sally (Bryan) and Kathleen; as well as, twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild (a second great grandchild due in March). Visitation will be on Friday, December 16th, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Evergreen Mortuary. Graveside services on Saturday, December 17, at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Stewart Sherard officiating. Memorial service will be held on Friday, December 30th, at 7:00 p.m. at Desert Springs Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Desert Springs Presbyterian Church.
