HATCH, William (Bill) Granvil


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 01/23/2015 William “Bill” Granvil Hatch, 70, of Albany, formerly of Snowflake, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, at his home in Albany, Ore. Bill was born in San Francisco, Calif. His siblings include Marion Leslie Hatch, Cindy Pustizzi, Ron Wheeler, Dan Ferus, Joe Hatch, Faye Hatch, Hal Hatch, Denise Paul-Freeman, Julie Stephens and Loretta Pringles. Bill married Gloria Lee Aul Hatch Oct. 14, 1963, in Gallup, N.M., and later were sealed in the Mesa LDS Temple. He graduated from Snowflake High School in 1962. Upon graduation, Bill went to electronics school in Denver, Colo. Upon graduation, Bill went to work for the pulp mill in Taylor for 20 years. He also worked for Montana Power as a journeyman for seven years, before moving to Albany in 1990. Bill worked as a millwright for Pope and Talbot for 26 years and retired in October 2006. Bill achieved many things in his life, but his biggest achievement was his family, He was a great-grandfather and grandfather. He was also a hunter’s guide in the White Mountains of Arizona, Republican County Chairman in Navajo County and Montana State Family Bowling Champion with his son, Dion, in 1985. Bill was loved so much by his family. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Lee Aul Hatch of Albany, Ore.; five children, Neil Soon and Dion (Larissa) Hatch of Torrance, Calif., Michalene (Chester) Ramsey and Shane (Christie) Hatch of Albany, Ore., and Nicolle (Gary) Clay of Pocatello, Idaho. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, Derek (Teresa) Ramsey, Justin (Jessi) Ramsey, Courtney (Eli) Ramsey, Trevor (Christina) Hatch, Leonid (Julia) Hatch, Craig Hatch, Amanda, Devon, Andrew, Alec and Kiana Hatch, Tyler (Hillary) Clay and Kaden, Holly, Karley and Kassity Clay; and six great-grandchildren, Jackson, Hailey, Carter and Aliya Ramsey, Vincent Metzger and Tristan Hatch. Services were held Nov. 22, 2014, at the LDS Stake Center in Albany, Ore.
