Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary, Scottsdale, Arizona Dr. Thomas T. Haddock January 17, 2015 Dr. Thomas T. Haddock, 87, died on January 17, 2015 with family and friends at his side. He leaves his wife of 32 years, Judy Kennedy, daughters Kay Pendleton and Gwen Doty, stepson Paul Kennedy, and grandchildren Sheri King, Jennifer Parish, Karla Aragon-Joyce, Scott Larson, Matthew Larson, Rosie Soza, Cody Kennedy, Casey Kennedy and 13 great-grandchildren. Tom spent his early years in Akron, Ohio then moved to Arizona during his high school years. From 1945 – 1946. Tom served his country as Seaman 1st Class in the U.S. Navy. His next four years were spent at Arizona State University where he lettered in baseball and basketball and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Desert View School was his first teaching position and his first principalship. In 1969 Tom proudly completed his Doctoral Degree in Education and became an Assistant Superintendent in the Washington Elementary School District. Tom’s next challenge was working as an educational publishing consultant in Cupertino, CA. He came back to public education to serve as Superintendent of Schools in Page, AZ and then Superintendent of the Alhambra Elementary School District in Phoenix from 1975 – 1987. Tom was very approachable and highly respected by teachers, principals and staff. He completed his career as ED of AZ School Administrators Association while teaching part time for Northern Arizona University. As an avid golfer Tom was a long time member of both Pinetop Lakes and Bellair Country Clubs. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, especially when he could foster his own love of sports in them. Tom was a kind, strong, big hearted, generous person loved by those who knew him. His gentle presence will be missed. Funeral Services will be held on Friday January 23, 2015 at 10:00 AM, Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary, 6500 E. Bell Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85254. Visitation with the family from 9:00-10:00 AM., service at 10:00 AM, with grave site tribute immediately following the service.
