CONNOLLY, James E. (Bud)


The Arizona Republic December 31, 2000 James E. (Bud) Connolly, 77, of Lakeforest Drive, Sun City, AZ, died Wednesday, December 27, 2000 in the LaPaz Regional Hospital, Parker, AZ. A son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Morgan Connolly, he was born in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, on January 3, 1923. Catholic by faith, he graduated from Duquesne University as a pharmacist and then from Stetson College of Law as an attorney in 1960. Mr. Connolly had lived in Sun City since 1981 and formerly lived in Tucson AZ, Belle Vernon and Monessen. At the time of his death, he was doing relief pharmacy work for LaPaz Regional Hospital and had previously worked in Washington DC and Florida as a pharmacist. He had worked several years at the Monessen Plant of the former Pittsburgh Steel Company. He was a US Marine veteran of WWII. Survivors include his partner of 28 years, Estella Champion; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Elizabeth and Steve Pearson of Myakka City FL and Kathleen Dreher of Sarasota FL; and 3 grandchildren: Morgan and Carrie Swope and Alan Dreher. Prayer services were held in the Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon, PA, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Sebastian R.C. Church. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
