The Arizona Republic December 28, 2000 Helmut J. Bantin, 58, of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away December 18, 2000. He was born July 2, 1942 in Hamburg, W. Germany and was an Army Veteran police officer for Nassau Co., NY, retiring in 1975 and was a proud member of the International Police Assn. He is survived by sons: Steve W. Bantin of Fort Drum, NY and Richard D. Bantin of Euless, TX; sisters: Erica Yantz of Scottsdale, Ursula Michitsch of Glendale, NY and Geisela Reuter of Brentwood, NY; brother: Werner Bantin of Wood Bourne, NY. Memorial services at Messinger Indian School Mortuary Chapel, 7601 E. Indian School Rd., Scottsdale, Arizona.
