Kenneth Charles "Taz" McCormick of Prescott, Arizona, born Oct. 1, 1947, in Marion, Indiana, passed away suddenly on Jan. 21, 2015, while in Tijuana, Mexico, seeking treatment for his illness.
A lot can be said of Taz. He served his country as a rifleman in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1966 to 1969. He earned a Purple Heart, Presidential Unit Citation, National Defense Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal and a Combat Action Ribbon. He had a heart for his brother veterans, volunteering his time, even while sick, to any veteran cause that needed a helping hand. His other greatest love in life was "Living to Ride, Riding to Live."
He will be remembered as rough around the edges, but he had a heart of gold, always willing to be there if he was needed. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him throughout his journey in this life. Semper Fi will always describe him to his family, friends and country.
A memorial service with military honors will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, at Prescott National Cemetery, a reception will follow at American Legion Post 6, Prescott, Arizona.
David's Desert Chapel of Wickenburg was entrusted with his arrangements.
