Vistoso Funeral Home, Oro Valley, Arizona William "Bill" C. McNichols February 23, 1918 - January 29, 2015 Bill McNichols, age 96, died in Tucson, AZ on January 29, 2015. He was born in St. Louis, MO to the late Wellington and Ida McNichols. Bill is survived by his wife of 74 years, June McKee McNichols; three sons, Terry McNichols of Tucson, AZ, Randy McNichols of Springfield, MO, and Dr. Timothy McNichols of Oro Valley, AZ; two granddaughters, Kourtney McNichols Brown and Natalie McNichols; and one brother, John (Jack) McNichols. He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Flachsbart, and brother, Wellington McNichols. Bill served during World War II as a gunnery instructor on B-17s in the U.S. Army Air Corps. After the war, he began a 40 year career as an IBEW construction electrician in St. Louis and then in Arizona and California. During this time he was also a small business owner in Phoenix, AZ. Bill loved to travel. He and June traveled extensively throughout the western United States, living in Missouri, Arizona, California and Utah. He had a lifelong love of trains, both real and model. And his loving family will always remember his homemade whole wheat bread and great cup of coffee. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his name to the Alzheimer's Association. www.alz.org
