Roger A. Wright, 67, longtime resident of Show Low, went to be with the Lord Jan. 14, 2015, surrounded by his family in Show Low. Roger was born Nov. 22, 1947, in Pana, Ill.
He moved to Show Low in 1960 where he attended and graduated from Snowflake High School. Roger served his country with pride, honor and dignity in the U.S. Navy as he was on the USS Coral Sea CVA-43 from 1966-1969. After returning to Show Low, Roger was employed by White Mountain Passenger Lines and later became owner of the company.
Roger sold the business, and a few years later became a park ranger for Arizona State Parks working at Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area in Show Low. He retired from there after six years.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Chelo Wright; sister Laura Jean Porter; nephew Michael Porter; daughters Rachel Nauman Wright and Olivia Dahm; son-in-law Danny Dahm; grandchildren Malek Padilla, Aaron and Ashley Nauman (twins), Michael Dahm, Josh Dahm, Timothy Dahm and Kyler Dahm.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at the Owens Livingston Mortuary White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th St., in Show Low.
Roger was a devoted loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Roger demonstrated well the love of his Saviour and the love for others. Forever Roger will always be in our hearts and greatly missed.
