Claire Alice Cofsky, 85, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at Sierra Blanca Rehabilitation Center in Lakeside. She was born Nov. 27, 1929, in Worchester, Mass., to Eugene and Albina Choiniere.
Claire attended Holy Name of Jesus School in Massachusetts where she sang in the choir. Singing was always one of her loves.
She married Ted Cofsky from Millbury, Mass., and together they had three children, Lydia Phillips of Utah and Steve and Glenn, both of Alaska; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She loved painting and working with crafts of all kinds. Her yard was decorated with beautiful flowers and statues each year. Because of her efforts, Claire and Ted received a “Best Yard” award. Her dream came true when she became an LVN in California. She lived in California for 20 years before moving to Arizona in April of 1988.
Claire helped in the kitchen and carried sacrament to Father Bill Welch. She also prepared the altar and lit the candles for Mass at Our Lady of the Snow Catholic Church in Snowflake. She and Ted worked at Webb’s Adult Care Center for many years and they also did private home care for many people over the years.
