Jan Cyprian, a former resident of Yavapai County from the TK Bar Ranch in Wagoner, Arizona, passed away in her sleep early Friday morning, Aug. 1, 2014, in an assisted living home in Tucson, Arizona. She was 86 years young at the time.
She is survived by her husband Rudy Cyprian, 91, who resides at the Arizona State Veterans Home in Tucson; and two sons, Tracy Cyprian, 53, of Buckeye, Arizona, and Drew Cyprian, 50, of Yuma, Arizona. She has four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Rudy and Jan moved from the TK Bar Ranch in 1978 to southern Arizona to work on the Arivaca Ranch in Arivaca, Arizona. After leaving the Arivaca ranch, they purchased the small tavern in Arivaca and grew it into a popular eating and drinking establishment, selling it later and retiring as caretakers for Amy and Roger Ford on the Fords' Arabian horse ranch in Tucson.
Jan was known for her singing voice that took her talents from the floors of local taverns with Western bands to actually cutting two albums in her youth with one of the bands she was with. Later in life she sang praises to the Lord and participated in and led many music departments in local churches. Jan was also a member of the Prescott Toastmistress Club and vice president for one term. Jan was an avid crafter, creating memories out of anything she could think of or get her hands on. Down to her last few days, she was still working on crafts that she had planned on giving as holiday gifts. She will be missed. May she rest in peace.
A Celebration of Life will be 1 p.m. Feb. 28, 2015, at the Arizona State Veterans Home in Tucson, 555 E. Ajo Way, in the chapel, so her husband Rudy can attend. Please contact Tracy at phonedude61@outlook.com with comments or questions.
