Franklin H. Silcox, 63, nine-year resident of Phoenix, passed away on February 10, 2004.
A Vietnam veteran and Major, U.S. Army Military Police, decorations include the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm (two awards), the Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars and the Army Commendation Medal with an Oak Leaf Cluster.
Prior to his retirement in 2003 Mr. Silcox was General Manager of the Ace Hardware Store in Carefree, AZ. Earlier, as a long-time printing executive he was National Sales Manager for New England Business Services after having founded and operated Printworks, his own printing business in Denver, CO.
Born and raised in the Washington, DC area, he was a graduate of the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA and president of his Theta Delta Chi fraternity chapter.
The son of the late Dr. W. Bruce Silcox and the late Ruth D. Silcox, he is survived by his wife of 36 years, Marian R. Silcox of Phoenix; two children, Kelly M. Hill of Rapid City, SD and Kevin F. Silcox of Phoenix; his granddaughter Lauren M. Hill of Rapid City, SD; his sister Marjorie S. Moore of Nashville, TN and his brother Gordon Silcox of Fairfax, VA.
Services at St. Patrick's Church, 10815 N. 84th Street, Scottsdale, AZ, and internment with military honors at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ.
