Dallas Andrew Dazen
(January 30, 1964 - February 8, 2015
Dallas Andrew Dazen, better known as “Bab Boy” was born on January 30th, 1964 to his late parents Silas Sr. and Nancy Dazen. He peacefully went home to be with the lord on Sunday February 8th, 2015. Bab Boy was born and raised in Whiteriver with roots from Cibecue and Cedar Creek. He had a love for family, friends, his home and his pets.
He attended Whiteriver Elementary, Jr. High and Alchesay High School. Bab graduated and received his diploma and also took classes at NPC to better equip himself for current and future employers. Bab Boy played high school football, maintained his grades, made lifelong friends and remained kind, loving and helpful in everything he did. You might best remember “Bab” as a “maintenance man”. This is ever so true in ALL ASPECTS of the definition.
Bab Boy worked his whole life, always providing for his home and family. He was employed with WMAT in various departments and also at the WMAHA for several years. Bab was a certified heavy equipment operator and he was an all around handy man. Bab took pride in his home; it always smelt of sweet roses, fresh cut grass and that fresh pot of coffee.
Bab was humble, always welcoming to any visitors, family and friends; enjoying their company and conversation to the fullest. Often times you would see Bab lending a helping hand wherever and whenever it was needed. He would be helping at traditional ceremonies, dinners, helping those celebrating a birthday and those mourning a loss. He would be cleaning a yard, fixing a gate, cooking up a meal and cutting wood; always staying busy. Bab had also attended church and made sure he supported and helped men and woman who ran for our tribal government.
Bab favored the Dallas Cowboys. He was truly “the maintenance man”, was a great friend and brother, had a big heart, loved the outdoors, and was taught family values, respect, to always be kind, loving and helpful. He was always making people laugh and was always flashing those dimples! Bab… there was never a dull moment with him around, he will truly be missed.
Dallas leaves behind his Sisters: Yolanda D. Walker, Denise Massey and Virginia Aday; Brother: Silas Dazen Jr.; Aunt: Pauline Gooday; Godchild: Summer Benally; and many, many extended brothers, sisters and relatives; both near and far.
A two night wake will begin on Saturday February 14th, 2015 at 10:00am at his childhood home, The Dazens Residence in “South Side” Whiteriver, Arizona. Funeral Services will be on Monday February 16th, 2015 at 10:00am at the Canyon Day Miracle Church with Bishop Leroy Tate Officiating.
