GATEWOOD, Major Ray

Silver Creek Mortuary, Taylor, Arizona Major Ray Gatewood (October 20, 1948 - February 5, 2015) Major Ray Gatewood of Cibecue, Arizona unexpectedly entered eternal rest on February 5, 2015. He was born October 20, 1948 to June M. Dale and Marcus Gatewood. Major was raised in Salt Lake Valley in the 50's and 60's then returned to Cibecue at 16 where he lived the rest of his life, his hobbies were hunting and spending time with his family. In the 80’s he was employed with Tribal Forestry and stayed at Chediski tower during the summer. Major had his own way with people, always laughing and making jokes to make them feel good. He is survived by his wife: Sharon Gatewood, Daughter: Pearl Gatewood, Sharilyn Browning, Donna Williams, Sons: Philbert Beatty, Nathan John Browning Sr., Aaron Browning, Jesse Thompson, Erick Thompson and Amos Thompson, Grandchildren: Peighton Dazen, Bryton Dazen , Anfernee Williams, Latrell Williams, Nathan J. Browning Jr., Delahoya Browning, Makayla Dahkashay, Deja Dakhashay, Dennisha Dazen, Leia Ani Rose Alatini, Sisters: Marantha Nez(Dennis Nez), Rose Ann Lupe (Dallas Lupe) Brother: Johnny Dale Sr. (Katherine Dale). Major is preceded in death in death by his Dad: Marcus Gatewood, Mother: June Marie Caddo Dale, Son: Belden Josay and Jonathan Browning and Uncle Robinson Caddo. He will be brought home for a two night wake starting on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 10:00 AM 602 S. Cooley Rd. Cibecue, Arizona. Funeral Services will take place on Monday February 16, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
