The Arizona Republic December 10, 1964 John B. Ward, 56, a custodian for Phoenix Union High School the past 15 years, died Monday, Dec. 7, 1964, in Good Samaritan Hospital. Survived by wife, Irene; daughters Mrs. Doris Renfro, Phoenix, and Mrs. Jeanette Tompkins, Woodbridge, Virginia; brother of Mrs. Leatha Smith, Phoenix, Mrs. Maurine Reynolds, Mrs. Bernice Farmer, Mrs. Edith Tyra, Mrs. Raymond Hall, William C., Claude, Eugene, Clark and Raymond, all out of state; and 9 grandchildren. Services for Mr. Ward, 4031 W. Granada, were conducted at North Phoenix Baptist Church by the Rev. David C. Hall. Burial in Resthaven Park in Glendale.
