HUBBARD, Susan

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Saturday, February 14, 2015 Tris Hubbard, 85, died Feb. 2, 2015. Susan Hubbard, 84, died Jan. 16, 2015. Both died peacefully with their family. Tris and Susan, both of Prescott, Arizona, were married 62 years. They have two surviving sons, Kyle Hubbard of Los Angeles and Bruce Hubbard of San Diego. Their daughter Diane Hubbard Hinkle of San Diego died in 2012. Tris was born in Lone Pine, California, to parents Orval and Arlyn (Toots) Hubbard. He is survived by his mother Toots; brother Jerry; and sister Joan. Susan was born in Redlands, California, to Luther and Helene Holden. She is survived by brother Roger. Tris and Susan met as students at University of Redlands, California and both graduated in 1951 and 1952, respectively. Tris and Susan moved to Glendora, California, in 1955 where Tris began his career of 35 years in education, serving as a teacher, coach, counselor, high school principal for eight years, and administrator. They moved to Chula Vista outside of San Diego in 1981, where Tris worked as a district Asst. Superintendent until his retirement in 1990. The couple retired to Prescott, Arizona, in 2004 and enjoyed their interests in golf and travel. They will be greatly missed by family and friends. Services took place Feb. 8, 2015 in Prescott.
