James Howard Ward
Longtime resident of Clay Springs, James Howard Ward went to be home with the Lord Dec. 10, 2014, following a brief illness. He was born Dec. 26, 1930, in Phoenix, the son of Edwin and Katherine Ward.
Jim attended Phoenix Tech High School, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and proudly served from 1950-54.
He met Dorothy in December 1953 while home on leave and they were married June 28, 1954.
After retiring, Jim and Dorothy moved to Clay Springs in 1986. Jim served on the Clay Springs/Pinedale Fire Board for over 12 years, was involved with the Navajo County Sheriff’s Auxiliary Volunteers for over 10 years and spent much of his time building wooden crafts, toys and furniture.
He enjoyed hunting, camping, wood working and building toys for his six grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Vicki Hanan from Colorado; son Keith Ward of California; grandsons John, Caleb and Nate; granddaughters Sarah, Heather and Gail; and two great grandsons, Corban and Aiden.
A memorial service in his honor will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the LDS Church in Pinedale.
