The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 02/20/2015 Marvin Gustave Downs Jr. (October 11, 1937 - February 17, 2015) Marvin G. Downs died Feb. 17, 2015, in Snowflake. He was born Oct. 11, 1937, to Walter R. Downs and Mabel Christine Klaechter. Marvin was a very loved man by his family and friends. He will be sorely missed. Marvin is survived by his wife, Winona Downs; daughters Ginger Musser, Jeri McDermott, Dana Duncan and Ella Owens; sons Richard Herbert, Michael Herbert and Gary Trickett; 29 grandchildren and lots of great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter R. Downs, Mabel Christine Klaechter and Wanda Downs, son Marvin Jr. and two brothers. A viewing will be held from 7-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at the Silver Creek Mortuary, 745 Paper Mill Road, in Taylor. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, also at the Silver Creek Mortuary. Interment will be at the Snowflake Cemetery. Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor handled arrangements.
