The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Saturday, February 21, 2015 Steven A. Vandre He is survived by his loving wife, Connie; his mother, Mary Jane; his brother, Terry; and his sister, LouAnn. Steve has five children; and 12 grandchildren. He was born on April 21, 1948 in Dekalb, Illinois, to Mary Jane and Arthur Vandre. He spent most of his life in Arizona, working for the state and raising his children. He served in Viet Nam where he received a Purple Heart for his service. When he and Connie married in 1994, they soon moved to Springfield, Missouri and lived there for 18 years. He became a national award-winning woodworker, creating beautiful pieces of intarsia with his scroll saw. When it was time to retire, he insisted he wanted to move back "home" and they chose the beautiful city of Prescott, Arizona to do so in 2013. A celebration of life memorial for Steve will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015, at Brick and Bones, 214 S. Montezuma St., Prescott, their favorite hangout. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society. Information provided by survivors.
