Charles Edward Paradise, 86, passed away on Oct. 7, 2014, in Prescott, Arizona, while in the wonderful care of VA Hospice Center. Charles was born on Feb. 20, 1928 in Bakersfield, California. He was the son of Perle Darwin Paradise and Della Freeman.
Charles' early years were spent in the southern California area. Charles served in the United States Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater. After WWII, Charles married Sybil Lawhorn and had two daughters, Vicki and Teresa. Charles lived in the San Francisco Bay area and worked in the commercial floor covering industry.
In the 1970s, Charles meet Pat Del Testa and she was to remain by his side until his death. Charles helped raise Pat's son David as his own. During the era of the 1970s to 1990s, Charles was involved with classic car restoration. His specialty was ground up MG TC and TD restoration, hence his nickname "M.G. Charlie." Charles enjoyed spending several months of each year in Loreto, Mexico.
Charles was preceded in death by his sister Betty. He is survived by Pat and David Del Testa; daughters Vicki Diego and Teresa Paradise; brothers Herschel and David; and nieces, nephews and grandsons.
Charles' ashes will be interned with his aunt and uncle, Lida and Jack Corburn in San Luis Obispo, California.
