Wickenburg Funeral Home & Crematory, Wickenburg, Arizona Donald Mohr 05/17/1925 - 03/02/2015 Donald Mohr, age 89, passed away March 2, 2015 at his home in Wickenburg, Az. He was born May 17, 1925 in Cambria, Wisconsin to Fred Mohr and Lice Norris-Mohr. Donald was a machinist by trade and worked with John Deere Corporation for years. He came to Wickenburg from Colorado in the 1990's. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wickenburg. ~~~~~~~~~~~ The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Wednesday, March 11, 2015 Donald Mohr, 89, passed away at his home March 2, 2015. Donald was born May 17, 1925, the son of Fred and Alice Mohr. He grew up in Cambria, Wisc., and graduated from Cambria High School in 1943. After graduation, he remained on the family farm and assisted his mother and father with crops and cattle. He married his wife, Evelyn Hughes, on Dec. 22, 1944, and they recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Donald and Evelyn left the farm in the late 1940s and moved to Cambria. For more than 30 years he worked as a welder/machinist for Busse Brothers in Randolph, Wisc. He then accepted a mechanic’s position with the John Deere Company in Horicon, Wisc., and finished his career with them before retiring in 1992. He and Evelyn enjoyed fishing, gardening and traveling. They moved to the warmer climate in Arizona in 1995 and began the leisurely life associated with a happy retirement. He was always appreciated by friends and relatives as a gifted handyman. He could disassemble, fix and reassemble nearly any mechanical appliance, car or gadgets people would give him. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; sister Joan Rux; brothers William Mohr and Robert Mohr. He is survived by his wife; son James Mohr and wife Mary Jane of Appleton Wisc.; daughter Jeanne (Opstein) and husband Mark of Rifle, Colo.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jane Nefzer of Dayton, Ohio, and Ann Wilson of Milwaukee. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held March 7 at the First Presbyterian Church, 180 North Adams Street, Wickenburg.
