The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 03/06/2015 Mary Elizabeth Kernagis “Our” beautiful baby girl, Mary Elizabeth Kernagis, has gone to be with Jesus (March 10, 2014-March 1, 2015). “She was given to us as a gift for only 11 short months, but we cherish every memory of that short time with her.” Her nature was so happy, sweet and bright that she brought smiles of joy to whoever she was with. “We have no idea what her life would have been like here with us, but she surely is laughing, dancing and singing with the angels, her great-grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins in heaven right now.” She will be missed daily by her parents, John and Juliann Kernagis; grandparents Larry and Barbara Strough and Robert and Barbara Kernagis; brothers Vincent LaGrua, Christian and Ethan Kernagis; sisters Sabrina, Andrea and Isabella Kernagis; and all of her aunts, uncles and cousins. “We are all feeling heartbroken over our loss, but we lean on the words of Psalm 34:18, which says … ‘The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit.’” A memorial mass will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Our Lady of the Snow Catholic Church, 1655 S. Main St., in Snowflake. Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor handled arrangements.
