HALE, Vernon Dow


Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona, Wednesday, March 04, 2015 Vernon Dow Hale entered into eternal peace on Feb. 16, 2015 at the Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Ariz. He was 66 years old. Vernon was born in Miami, Ariz. on Aug. 6, 1948. He was the 5th child out of 8 born to Lorenzo and Lorene Hale. His first jobs were at the bowling alley in Claypool as a pin setter and at the ice plant in Six Shooter Canyon. He graduated from Miami High School in 1967. He joined the Navy out of high school and was an electrician stationed in San Diego, Cali. on the USS New Orleans. He received the National Defense Service Medal and was discharged under honorable conditions after completing his duty assignment. He worked at the copper mines in Miami for several years and for Van Dyke Western Construction. Vernon met the love of his life, Gloria Yanez and her precious son, Jesse and they married on Dec. 21, 1974. They had one son, Lorenzo Dow Hale. Vernon was preceded in death by Gloria and also one infant son. Vernon is survived by his sons, Lorenzo of Yuma, Ariz. and Jesse of Mesa, Ariz.; granddaughters, Aliah of Mesa, Ariz. and Sariana of Florida; grandson Akim of Mesa, Ariz.; sisters, Betty Huggins of Globe, Ariz., Sharon Hale-Wilkerson of Florence, Ariz.; brother Paul Hale of Globe, Ariz. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his father-in-law, Joe Yanez, and his sisters-in-law, Christy and Lisa. He will also forever be in the hearts of his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Bonnie, Sue and Ozella and also one brother, Bobby. Our loss is Heaven’s gain.
