Lyle Dennis “Denny” Harmon was an Arizona native born on Oct. 21, 1955. He was raised in Phoenix where he and his childhood friends spent countless hours biking up to south mountain.
He attended Carl Hayden High School where he earned the nickname “Frame”. He began building his lifelong career at the age of 15 in the mechanical insulation field with Retherford Insulation, eventually creating his own business “All Seasons” and then joining partnership with Quality Mechanical Insulation in March of 1998 as their chief estimator.
He was loved by all that he crossed paths with. He spent countless hours volunteering for Wickenburg Ambulance, Morristown Fire Department and Buckeye Valley Fire Department. He began his valiant battle with prostate cancer in 2002, but he lived by the quote written by Stuart Scott “You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and the manner in which you live.”
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, hiking, Jeeping, quading and spending time with his family and friends. He loved teaching survival skills to his children and grandchildren – sometimes driving them out to the middle of nowhere and asking for directions back or using twigs to make fishing poles and hot dog roasters.
His heroic battle with cancer ended on Feb. 17, 2015, when he was welcomed into the arms of Our Lord pain free. We are all truly blessed to have been able to walk along side him thru 59 years. There will be a celebration of life BBQ at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14 at Surprise Community Park Ramada #3. Friends and family are encouraged to join in and share memories.
