Melva G. Meitzner, 86, of Canton, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015 in Tyler, Texas. Mrs. Meitzner, a retired retail clerk, was born on Dec. 5, 1928 in Elbow Lake, Minn. to Frank and Inga (Isaacson) Achterberg.
Following high school, she married Leonard Iverson. Together they had two daughters, prior to their divorce.
She lived in Globe, Ariz. from 1967 to 2012 and married her second husband, Earl Meitzner in 1985.
She worked at Carmeds Clothing Store for approximately 20 years and was also a cake decorator.
She enjoyed shopping, baking, camping, traveling, fishing and spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Ella Ellingson, Art Achterberg and Hilda Rand and is survived by her husband, Earl Meitzner of Canton, Texas; daughters, Linda Marie Beene and Annette Ruth Meyers; step-son, Mike Meitzner of Tucson, Ariz.; sister, Ruth Lehman of Portland, Ore.; grandchildren, Leonard Beene, and his wife, Kira of Tecumseh, Okla., Kristie Lowe and her husband, Scott; Cameron Lowe and Hayden Lowe, Leland Fuller and his wife, Corrine, Dylan and his wife, Abby Fuller; great grandchildren, Billy Bazemore and his fiancé, Bree Stone; Heather Beene, Waylon Bazemore, Jacqueline Suleiman and her husband, Dr. Michael Suleiman, Brandt Geist, Solei Geist, Alexandria Suleiman, Leland Fuller, Leah Fuller, Aria Fuller, Haidyn Fuller and Landen Fuller as well as several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held in Minnesota at a later date.
