James Alan Patton
(February 23, 1970 - March 8, 2015)
Sunday, March 8, 2015, at his home in Flagstaff, Arizona, James "Jim" Alan Patton departed this life at the age of 45 to enter eternity with his Heavenly Father.
James was born in Flagstaff, February 23, 1970, the fourth child of Frank and Naomi Patton, fraternal twin to John Andrew Patton. James attended Flagstaff public schools, graduating Flagstaff High School class of 1988.
He served in the United States Navy, spent years in the electrical and facility management fields with his last position being project superintendent on NAU’s new science and health building for N.J. Shaum & Son, Inc.
He expressed his creativity as a metal artist, spending his days in service to others as a certified chaplain and "master of ceremony" at the Church of the Nations (formerly Lamb of God Bible Church). James was a hardworking, passionate American patriot, an outdoorsman, a hunter, a loyal friend, a kind brother and a caring son.
James is preceded in death by his father, Frank E. Patton, Sr. James is survived by his mother, Naomi J. Grosse Patton Watkins and her husband, Gary Watkins; his Patton siblings: Catherine (Reid) Miller, Frank Jr. (Vonda), Tamela (Darrell) Yoakum, John (Kristy), and Jeffry (Wendy); by his step-sisters: Shanna (Bob) Perry and Susan (Lance) Chester; and by his twenty-three nieces and nephews and two great-nephews and his faithful four-legged companions, Katie and Kloee.
A visitation will be Sunday from 6-8 p.m., at Norvel Owens Mortuary, 914 E. Route 66. A visitation will also take place Monday, March 16, at 9 a.m., followed by funeral services at 10 a.m., both at Christ’s Church of Flagstaff, 3475 E. Soliere Ave.
Interment will be at Citizens Cemetery.
