Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona, Wednesday, March 11, 2015 Miguel “Mike” G. Morales passed away on February 4, 2015 in El Paso, TX. He was born to Demetrio and Guadalupe Morales in El Paso,TX on September 29,1929. He is preceded in death by his parents, Demetrio and Guadalupe Morales, his brother Demetrio Morales, his sister Hortensia Morales Jaramillo, step granddaughter Erica Privatt, and Sally Morales, the mother of their sons, Mike (Paula) of Arlington, TX,Richard and Phillip of Flagstaff, AZ. Mike is survived by his wife Gracelia and step daughter Miat, of Mexico City; his brother Robert Morales of Cottonwood, AZ; Willie Morales (Tenchie) of Flagstaff, AZ; Angel Morales of Clarkdale, AZ; his sisters Alice Goitia (Ralph) of Tempe, AZ, and Carmen Stoneberger of Flagstaff, AZ. He leaves behind grandchildren, step grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Mike grew up in Flagstaff and served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1950. Upon returning home he completed his senior year at Flagstaff High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Northern Arizona University. While attending NAU he worked for the Department of Public Safety as a highway patrolman. A life-long educator, Mike taught (elementary/high school) for seven years at Emerson, Marshall, Flagstaff Junior High and Flagstaff High School. He taught one year in El Segundo, CA before returning to Flagstaff where he taught at Flagstaff Junior High School. He was promoted to the position of Assistant Principal at Flagstaff Jr High, then to principal of Flagstaff High School and he was promoted to the position as supervisor of building and grounds of the Flagstaff School System. Mike moved to Mexico City and ultimately to El Paso, TX after his retirement in 1986 from the Flagstaff School System. Retirement meant continuing his vocation as an educator and he taught in the Catholic Schools, worked as Principal and, after a second retirement, as substitute teacher and school principal. Services will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Chapel, in Flagstaff, AZ on March 11, 2015 at 10:00 with Military Services. Arrangements by Lozano’s Flagstaff Mortuary, 2545 N.
