This morning at 10 o'clock Egbert Van Allen breathed his last at his residence in West Prescott.
Deceased was a native of New York, aged 64 years, was a California pioneer and had been in Prescott since January last, during which time he has endeared himself to all who knew him for his many noble traits of character. He was a loving and devoted husband and a kind and affectionate father, whose death causes an irreparable loss to a wife and six children.
The latter, in their bereavement and great sorrow, have the warmest sympathies of our community.
The date of the funeral has not yet been decided, due notice of which will be given.
