Arizona Journal Miner, Prescott, Arizona Territory Sunday, December 8, 1907, page 1, column 2 Mortuary John Wood, an old and respected pioneer of the Verde Valley, died at his home in Camp Verde, Friday morning, at 10 o’clock. The immediate cause of death was general debility. He was aged 63 years and a native of Georgia. He came to this country in 1873 and settled in the Verde Valley, which has been his home ever since. He leaves no immediate relatives surviving here. His wife, a sister of Mrs. George W. Hanes of Camp Verde proceeded him to the Great Beyond several years ago.
