Dolores M. "Dee" Blizzard lost her long battle with liver disease on Friday, March 13, 2015 at her home. She was born Oct. 1, 1947 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania; the daughter of John and Amelia (Bashnyn) Mikula Sr.
Dee moved to Prescott in 1979 from California. She worked at the Prescott airport for Golden Pacific Airlines in a job she loved, later as a travel agent, then finally at Embry Riddle University. Not one for planning ahead, she loved to travel and ride along wherever she and John would end up! The beach, the Sierra's or the back roads of Death Valley were her favorites places to visit. Dee had a green thumb and loved taking care of her plants and growing things
She is survived by her beloved husband John, they were married Nov. 7, 1987; brother John (Kathy) Mikula of Pennsylvania; and her sister Carol (Bob) Sharpless of Pennsylvania; as well as stepdaughter Pam (Steve) Flanagan; and stepson Mark Shannon) Blizzard; and four grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed. Dee was the most kind, loving and compassionate person most people had ever meet.
A celebration of her life will be at a date later to be determined.
