The Payson Roundup, Payson, Arizona, Friday, March 20, 2015 Helen Jean Christofferson May 4, 1921 - March 15, 2015 Helen Jean Christofferson, 93, of Star Valley, Ariz., died Sunday, March 15, 2015 in Banner Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz. She was born May 4, 1921 in Stambaugh, Mich. to Stanley and Agnes (Niklas) Nowicki. She married Russell Christofferson on Jan. 23, 1963. They made their home in Star Valley, Ariz. beginning in 1982. Helen is survived by her husband; her daughter, Sally (Don) Fiorani of Atlantic Mine, Mich.; daughters-in-law, Margaret Mylchreest of Iron River, Mich. and Kazuko Mylchreest of Tucson, Ariz.; step-daughters, Charlene (Robert) Anderson, Lois Longrie and June Christofferson, all of Tucson, Ariz. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, 16 step great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews survive. Helen was preceded in death by three children, Marlene Halvas, Marshall and Donald Mylchreest; her parents; brothers, Frank and Johnnie Nowicki; half-brothers, Emil and Louie Urban; her sisters, Rosalie Muto, Phyllis Olsen, half-sisters, Valeria Barrows, Eleanore Stromberg; and son-in-law, Richard Halvas. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Mount Cross Church, 601 E. Highway 260, Payson, Ariz., across from Tiny’s Café.
