While accompanying Dale around the world and simultaneously raising a family, she lived in Alaska and Hawaii as territories, the Panama Canal Zone and Belgium plus numerous locations within the continental US. She ‘held down the fort’ stateside while Dale served in Korea, Iran, and Vietnam. After Dale’s Retirement, Maxine and Dale arrived in Flagstaff in May 1979 where they have ‘stayed put’ for the longest period of their lives. Maxine’s interests included traveling, gardening, ceramics, and silversmithing as well as the adventures of rock hounding, exploring, camping and camaraderie as members of the Flagstaff Gem and Mineral Society. Her passion was family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She supported those around her, and her deep character, her love, and her generous heart will be missed.
