Prescott Journal - Miner, Prescott, Arizona Territory Tuesday, July 28, 1908, page 5, column 1 John Welch Dies, A Victim Of Cancer John Welch, aged fifty-four years and a native of Texas, died yesterday at 4 o'clock, at his home in North Prescott. His death was due to cancer of the face, of which he has been a sufferer for many months. Several sons and daughters survive him. His death is deeply regretted by a wide circle of acquaintances who held him in high respect. He was of charitable and generous disposition. Although some time ago he realized his end was near, he never murmured, showing the greatest fortitude until the last. His remains were taken in charge by the Ruffner undertaking establishment to be prepared for interment.
