EWER, Daniel M

Hassayampa Miner (Wickenburg AZ) Thursday, February 22, 1917, p 1:4 Dan Ewer Passes Away News was received Monday that Dan Ewer, well known in Wickenburg, died at the home of his sister in Lebanon, Oregon, last Friday night. Mr. Ewer had been ailing with valvular disease of the heart for some time and after staying at the hospital in Phoenix for a short while came to this place and was cared for at the home of I. B. Wood, with whom he had been intimate ever since he first came to this section in the fall of 1904. After a few weeks spent at Mr. Wood's home it was seen that his case was hopeless and his relatives, a sister, Mrs. W. H. Marshall, and a niece, Mrs. Dollie Donecke, both of Lebanon, Oregon, were sent for. After spending several weeks with him here Mrs. Marshall decided to remove him to her home. This was done, leaving for that place on the 11th. Mr. Ewer stood the trip nicely and appeared well on Friday, but that night soon after retiring complained of feeling badly and in a few minutes expired. Mr. Ewer was a native of Maine and would have been 60 years old the 5th of next June. He was well known in this part of the country and during his stay here had been associated in several mining properties with Harry Amy and Joe Fuller.
