Benny Hays of Phoenix, Arizona, died Friday, March 6, 2015, peacefully at his home at the age of 76. Benny was born on April 19, 1938 in Artesia, New Mexico. He is a veteran of 15 years in the United States Navy and upon discharge from the military; he worked in his family business as a roofer. Benny is survived by his loving wife Gail and his children Benny (Angie), Maria, Dale (Retta), Christina, Theresa, Julia, Angela, Marty and 16 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Ralph, Elmer, Kenneth, and Bobby and sisters Marie, Bess, and Peggy. He is further survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Benny is preceded in death by his father James Hunter Hays and mother Beattress Lilly (Temple); his sister Daisy and brothers Lee, Frank, J.R., Joe, Lawrence and Danny. Benny enjoyed working on old cars in his spare time as well as camping, cooking, watching westerns and having his morning coffee. He will be remembered well for his sense of humor and making others laugh. A Memorial will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2015 from 3-6pm at the family's home.
