Isaac S. Jones Sr. died March 31, 2015 at Hospice of the Valley in Glendale. He was born Feb. 10, 1939, the son of Gibson and Florence (Charles) Jones.
Isaac worked for the tribe in the maintenance department. He also worked as a surveyor and for 15 years at a rock quarry in Ash Fork. He enjoyed fishing in all the lakes around Williams from Cataract Lake, Kaibab Lake, Dogtown and White Horse; catching trout, catfish and blue gills. He also liked being out doors hunting especially for deer. He enjoyed driving all the back roads. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and the family
Isaac is survived by his wife, Irene; daughters, Christina (Taylor) Thompson, Cecilia Jones and Ashley (Josh) Hunter; stepchildren, Raymond (Erica) Doka, Maria (Joe) Gabaldon; brother, Ernie (Janet) Jones Sr.; sisters, Lenora (Terry) Jones-Manuel, Kathy Jones; 12 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Isaac was preceded in death by his son, Isaac Jr.; brothers, Chester and Kenneth Jones; sisters, Lorraine (Ben) and Delores Jones.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2915 at the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, 303 S. Cortez St. in Prescott with a Celebration of Isaac's life at noon on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the Yavapai Tribal Gathering Center followed by the burial at the YPIT Cemetery.
