FELIX GONZALES CORDOVA
(January 14, 1931 - April 1, 2015)
FELIX GONZALES CORDOVA, age 84 , of Globe, Arizona passed away on April 1, 2015 at Banner Baywood Hospital in Mesa, Arizona.
He was born in Christmas, Arizona on January 14, 1931, the son of John and Martina Gonzales. He worked for the Gila County Sheriff Department as a jailer and EMT. He enjoyed being with his family. Felix served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Felix is survived by his wife Gloria of Globe, Sons Eddie Cordova (Suzanne) of Globe, John David Cordova of Globe, Ronnie Cordova (Martha) of Globe and Mark Cordova (Sylvia) of Mesa. He is also survived by his brother Tommy Alvarez (Dora) of California and his Sister Mary Ann Martinez of Miami, Arizona.
Visitation will be @ 9-10 on April 9, 2015 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Globe with Services following at 10:00. Burial will be in Globe Cemetery.

Felix Gonzales Cordova, age 84, of Globe, Ariz. passed away on April 1, 2015 at Banner Baywood Hospital in Mesa, Ariz.
He was born in Christmas, Ariz. on Jan. 14, 1931, the son of John Gonzales and Martina Alvarez.
Felix is survived by his wife, Gloria of Globe; sons, Eddy Cordova (Suzanne) of Globe, John David Cordova of Globe, Ronnie Cordova (Martha) of Globe and Mark Cordova (Sylvia) of Mesa. He is also survived by his brother, Tommy Alvarez (Dora) of California; and his sister, Mary Ann Martinez of Miami, Ariz.
He has three brothers and four sisters who are deceased, and his mother.
Felix enlisted in the Army on Dec. 31, 1947 in Phoenix, Ariz. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Trained as a cannoneer, Private Cordova earned his parachute jump wings a year later in Yanoto, Japan and joined the ranks of the 507th parachute infantry regiment as Army Air born. His overseas service earned him the Army of Occupation Medal (Japan), Korean Campaign Medal with four bronze deployment stars and his Parachutist Medallion. He also made two combat jumps.
After four years, one month and five days, Felix left active duty from Camp Roberts, Calif. on Feb. 29, 1952. Felix enjoyed fishing and camping at the White Mountains with family. He also was in a band called the Corvets; for many years they played music in Globe and the surrounding areas. Felix is also survived by four granddaughters and one grandson. Felix will be missed by his family and his dog, Blue. We all love you and miss you very much.
