HUEBNER, Daniel Paul (Dan)

Norvel Owens Mortuary, Flagstaff, Arizona Daniel Paul Huebner (December 19, 1961 - March 14, 2015) On Saturday March 14th, Dan Huebner passed from this life doing what he loved most; skiing the San Francisco Peaks back country. Dan was a master telemark skier with expertise matched by few. An admired & respected member of a tight family of local skiers, who share his passion & respect for nature. Dan will be remembered for his love of his wife Denise, his family and his extensive "family" of friends. Dan's clever and witty sense of humor, his wealth of knowledge & generosity of spirit will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Dan was a creative artist & a meticulously talented craftsman who always strived to make his work unique, and just a little bit better. Dan truly enjoyed reliving a good day of skiing with his friends, as well as preparing the next one to come. He was so much fun to be with, that he lightened the spirits of all of those around him. He was raised in the communities of Columbia & Deep Creek Maryland. Dan arrived in Flagstaff in 1982 to attend NAU, earning a degree in Forestry, then worked for the Rocky Mountain Research Station for 20 yrs. Dan is survived by his wife, Denise, his parents Robert & Marcene, sisters, Debbie (& Steve) and Ruth (& Dan), brother, Joel (& Bimi) and nephews Daniel, Andy and Philip. Dan leaves behind family and friends with broken hearts, but also with precious and cherished memories of time spent with a truly exceptional, kind and good person. We love you Dan. Donations to Coconino County Search and Rescue, Kachina Peaks Avalanche Center or Flagstaff Family Food Center are appreciated.
