Richard Gerald Howland
Richard "Dick" Howland died at home in Prescott Valley, AZ, on Friday, September 26, 2014. He was born in Merrill, Wisconsin, July 3, 1930.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Genevieve; father, Gerald; brother, Don; son, Rick; and wife, Marilyne. He is survived by his sister, Mary Reich; daughter, Luanne Passmore (Randy); grandchildren, Kevin Passmore (Brittany) and Amber Passmore and great-grandchildren, Lacey and Trevor Passmore.
He graduated from Merrill High School and went on to Valparaiso University in Indiana and received his BS degree at the University of Wisconsin.
Richard moved to Arizona in 1955 where he worked for AB Robbs Trust Company and then CIBA Pharmaceutical Company. In 1966 he followed his dream of living on a ranch so he moved his family to Mayer, AZ to the
U Cross Ranch. Some of the best memories of his life. He loved riding horses, working the cattle and entertaining family and friends who came to enjoy the cowboy lifestyle.
He returned to Phoenix to work at Continental Bank where he retired from. He married Marilyne Uhlmann and spent the last 20 years at Wickenburg, AZ and Showlow, AZ. After Marilyne passed away he moved to Prescott Valley, AZ, where he was close to his daughter and family.
He was well known for his love for family and friends and his love for animals. He was known by all for being the Founder, CEO, President and Chairman of his "Grumpy Old Men Club".
Services will be on Friday, October 3 at Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery at 401 N Hayden Rd, Scottsdale with a viewing at 1:30 and service at 2:30.
