The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, Arizona Saturday, April 11, 2015 Nancy LaRue (Funkhouser) Smith, 82 of Sacramento California passed away peacefully November 20th 2014. Nancy was born on April 16th 1932 in Miami Arizona to Harry Middaugh and Mary McNair (Mars). Nancy was an amazing cook and avid bird lover. Nancy lived most of her life in Arizona. She loved her family and friends very much. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee, and Canasta with her kids. Nancy is survived by her children Ricky, Dale, Virgil (Donna), Reuben (Carrie), Nancy (Jimmy) and Mary (Gary), and blessed with many wonderful Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Middaugh and Mary McNair and husband Jesse Smith, her brother Raymond Middaugh, Sister Kathryn Fay Funkhouser, sons Perry Funkhouser, Clint Funkhouser and William Lewis. Nancy was greatly loved and will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be 11am on April 18th at the Ramada in Camp Verde, 473 S Main St. (on Hollamon St just behind town hall) Information provided by survivors
