(Maiden Name: Harvey)

Vistoso Funeral Home, Oro Valley, Arizona Eyleen Paugh August 12, 1927 - April 5, 2015 Eyleen E. (Harvey) Paugh passed away peacefully on Easter evening, April 5, 2015 at the Morning Glory Adult Care Home, Tucson, Arizona. Her grandsons said it was a perfect day for her to go, Resurrection Sunday. Mom had a great love for her God, and we believe our dad and her family were at the gates to welcome her. Eyleen was born in a small coal mining town, Atlantic, Mineral County, West Virginia on 12 August 1927, to Clarence A. and Celeste Pearle Baldwin Harvey. Eyleen graduated in1946 from University High School in Morgantown, West Virginia. She met Donald Keith Paugh shortly after his return from World War II. She worked at Fredlock’s Drug Store in Morgantown, and Donald came in to see his older sister, Alberta Paugh Ashburn, who ran the diner in the store. She thought he was handsome in his Navy uniform and accepted his offer for a date. However, she was a bit disappointed when he showed up in his ”civies” and not his uniform. They were married on 23 January 1947, in Oakland, Maryland. Their daughter Nancy Louise was born on 23 January 1948 – Happy First Anniversary! Donald and Eyleen moved to Urbana, Ohio and added Donald Keith Paugh, Jr. to their family on 14 May 1951. They lived in Urbana until their move to Tucson, Arizona in 1974. Eyleen worked for Misener Drug Store until 1980. When her daughter Nancy became pregnant, Eyleen joking said that if she had twins (they ran in the family), she would quit work and take care of them. Well, Wyatt and Morgan were born in September 1979, and Nancy took her up on her offer. When Nancy returned to work in January 1980, Eyleen started her new “career”. When Nancy married David in 1984, Eyleen was thrilled because she now had two more grandsons, Jeff and Jason. The four boys were her life and she gave them love and support every day. From 1980 until 2010, Eyleen, aka “Grandma Eyleen”, took over 40 children into her home. She had found her true calling in life, caring for young children. Eyleen considered all of her “kids” to be her grandchildren. In 1998, her granddaughter Sarah reentered her life. Sarah brought Jacob and Jade into our family, and she was so excited to have great-grandchildren – she beamed when she told people, and she told everyone! A life-long Methodist, Eyleen was a Charter Member of Vista de la Montana United Methodist Church, Tucson, Arizona. Those of you who knew her know that she was an amazing lady with a generous heart and soul. She always said that she had no God-given talent. We told her God blessed her with the gift of sharing love through her cards. Throughout the years, I am sure many of you have been the recipients of her beautiful and thoughtful cards. She also loved gospel and country music. For 15 years, she attended the weekly gospel sings at the First Baptist Church in Catalina. Many times she, her sister Jackie and niece Patty Jo were the only ones in the audience. The entertainers always dedicated songs to her, which she said embarrassed her. Actually, it made her so happy to be so loved. Her friends from the Baptist Church and Kibbey’s became part of her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents, Clarence and Pearl Harvey; brothers Lewis C. “Junior” Harvey, Lee Roy Donald Harvey, and Kenneth Vernon Harvey; brothers-in-law Bill Elliott and Merle Myers; and sister-in-law Geneva McDonald Harvey. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (David) Yob; granddaughter, Sarah (Tom) Henneberry; grandsons, Wyatt Bills, Morgan (Robin) Bills, Jeff (Melissa) Yob, and Jason (Kelly) Yob; great-granddaughters, Jade Arms, Elsie Bills, Taylor Bills, Ashley Butcher, Tatum Yob, Madison Yob, Sierra Yob, and Lilia Yob; great-grandsons, Jacob (Marlene) Arms and Jalen Arms; great-great-grandsons Isaiah Arms and Isreal Arms. In April and May, she would have added two great-great- granddaughters Ida Arms and Harper Bills. Eyleen is also survived by sisters, Colleen (Donald) Sperandio, Jackie (John) Bell, Virginia (Earl) McCabe and brothers Keith (Rose) Harvey, Robert (Joyce) Harvey and Joel (Betty) Harvey; sisters-in-law Agnes Paugh VanSteenburgh and Patty (Sperandio Harvey) Neely; and many nieces and nephews that loved her dearly; her “adopted” daughter, Evonne (Clayton) Springer; and “grandchildren” John and Sarah Guerrero, Mikayla Gilbert and Angela Andrews. She loved you all. In her last days, Eyleen was cared for by Casa de la Luz Hospice and the wonderful caregivers at Morning Glory Adult Care Home. The Casa de la Luz nurses were amazing, and her caregivers at Morning Glory spoiled her and attended to her every need. Her family thanks you all for the love you showed her during this difficult time. A special thanks to the caregivers; Anna, Vanessa, Alisha, Angie, Cassie and Maria. You all made her smile, even when she didn’t want to. There will be a Celebration of Eyleen’s life at Vista de la Montana United Methodist Church on April 18th at 1:30pm, with Dr. Alan Campbell officiating. There will also be a Celebration at Lynch Chapel United Methodist Church, Cassville, West Virginia on May 9th at 1:00 pm. Her final resting place will be in the Beverly Hills Memorial Garden, Westover, West Virginia.
