The Eastern Arizona Courier, Safford, Arizona ~ April 15, 2015 Joyce Wells left this world March 31, 2015. She passed at her home in Safford. Joyce was laid to rest April 7, 2015, in the Safford Cemetery. She was 74. Joyce was born March 28, 1941, in Thatcher, the daughter of Boyd and Louise Hawkins. Joyce would spend her childhood in Fort Thomas, where she attended and graduated from the Fort Thomas Schools. Joyce was a kind and caring person who opened her heart and home to many. Joyce has joined her family that has gone before: her father, Boyd Hawkins; her mother, Louise Black; her brothers, Lyn and Gay Hawkins; and her son, Bobby Reed. Joyce leaves behind the ones who knew her as mom: Terry, Ronald Sr., Louise, Ronald Jr. and Tanya Reed; her brother, J.B. Hawkins (Linda), of Pima; and her sister, Doris Sims (Dennis), of Kingman. Funeral services for Joyce were conducted April 7, 2015, at the Vining Funeral Home by Bishop Chris Bierman, of the Safford Sixth Ward. Online condolences may be offered at viningfuneralhome.com.
