Miner Is A Victim Of The White Plague
Walter Kermont, a recent arrival fro Tonopah, Nevada, passed away at
Mercy hospital yesterday morning after a long illness due to miner's
consumption.
During the past winter he resided at Wickenburg, and a few months
ago came to this city in the hope of a change of climate proving
beneficial.
He was sent to this country by the Tonopah local of the Western
Federation of Miners, and bore a splendid name as an industrious
man.
He was a native of Russia, and was naturalized in Chicago in 1898,
The body is at Ruffner's awaiting advices from Nevada as to
disposition.
Transcriber's note: Walter is buried in an unmarked grave at the
Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
There are several spelling found of his surname: Kermont, Kemonk,
Kemouk, Kimonk, Kunouketc. I have not been able to verify which one
is correct.
