KENNEDY, John D.

Weekly Journal Miner, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, July 22, 1914, page 6, column 2 Summons Comes Suddenly To Kennedy (From Friday's Daily) John D. Kennedy for many years a resident of this city and county, passed away at Mayer on Wednesday, after a brief illness from pneumonia, which developed from asthmatic troubles. Until last Monday he was a clerk at the Sherman house, but the line of business which he followed for many years in this section was that of a millman. He worked at McCabe and other camps at this vocation, until poor health overtook him. Kennedy enjoyed a splendid name among all, and his honesty was one of the traits of a character that made him a host of friends. He was leaving the country when suddenly taken ill at Mayer, seeking a lower elevation in the Black Canyon country, under the advice of his physician. He was born in Pennsylvania 69 years ago, and leaves a sister residing in Lebannon, that State. He has been in this and other sections of Arizona for over a quarter of a century. Transcriber's note: Mr. Kennedy is buried in an unmarked grave at the Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
