A Sad Death
The Wife of District Attorney Morrison Passes Away Suddenly, But Peacefully.
(From Friday's Daily)
A gloom was cast over this community this morning when the announcement was made that Mrs. R. E. Morrison had very suddenly died during the early morning hours. Her condition three or four days ago was such that Dr. McCandless, the attending physician, called Dr. Hall in consultation, and both physicians expressed the opinion that the case was a very serious one, although it was thought yesterday the crisis had passed, and she appeared much better. Her husband and sister felt quite encouraged at her apparently improved condition, and confidently hoped that she would be able to be up again in a few days. But alas, the grim messenger was hovering nearer the loved one than her friends had any reason to suspect.
At daylight this morning she was awake and spoke to her nurse, and some time afterwards, on going to her bed, she was discovered to be dead, having apparently died while asleep.
Deceased was an exceptionally bright woman of fine attainments, was a loving wife and devoted mother, and was universally loved and respected by all who knew her, and in her death the community suffers a severe loss.
The affliction is a terrible one on her husband, as, in addition to the loss of her companionship and wise counsels, they have four small children, who are deprived of the loving care of a mother.
The family has the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement. The funeral will take place Sunday morning at 9 o'clock.
