Death Claims Inez M'Donnell
Mrs. Inez McDonnell, prominent local civic leader, charity worker and Prescott resident sine 1898, died here last night of a heart attack.
A vital figure in local affairs for four decades, Mrs. McDonnell was regarded highly in this city, both as a devoted mother and a public servant.
Her leadership was credited with the success of the emergency efforts during the World war period, and she was prominent in affairs of the Republican party at one time.
Mrs. McDonnell was born September 3, 1882, in Chicago, Ill., and came to Prescott at the age of 16.
Her step-father was the late Robert E. Morrison, on of the out-standing attorneys in the history of Yavapai County, and a prominent lawyer here for many years.
Mrs. McDonnell was a vibrant Prescott personality. Her keen wit and brilliant mind endeared her to her many friends and she was renounced for her compassion for the unfortunate. A zestful figure in life, she continuously extended kindnesses to the underprivileged and was active in providing benefits for them.
Although she was prominent in public affairs, Mrs. Mcdonell was an outstanding mother and her home absorbed her devotion. The Morrison household, which she maintained following the death of her mother, was a center of youth activity while her daughters were growing up. It was a home in which boys and girls enjoyed themselves immensely and reflected the love which Mrs. McDonnell had for her family and household.
Her daughters are all residents of Prescott. They are Mrs. E. C. Locklear, (Betty), Mrs. Roberta Pfister, and Mrs. Katherine Rowe.
In addition, she leaves her brother, Leon F. Kneipp, assistant United States Forester, Washington, D.C., and five grandchildren, Donionerine and Robert Rowe, Leon Hampton Locklear, Alfred John and Frederick Pfister.
