The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 05./01/2015 Odet Johnston Bloomfield, 81, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015, in Mesa. She was born Oct. 3, 1933, in Ramah, N.M., the daughter of Jesse and Jennie James Johnston. Odet retired as a medical assistant for Dr. Ellsworth. She was an avid quilter, crocheted, and loved camping, cooking and grandkids. She is survived by her sons, Ronald Bloomfield of Houston, Texas, and James Bloomfield of Florence; daughters Vicki Griffiths of Venice, Utah, Carolyn Bond of St. Johns, and Kimberli VandeBerg of Mountain Home, Idaho; brother Jerry Johnston; sisters Mervy Earl and Agnes Rose; and 15 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Odet was preceded in death by her parents; husband Thomas Verdell Bloomfield; sisters Clara Lee, Veralda Adair, Mary Love, Ruby Cord, Virginia Boster and Florida Foster; and brothers Leland Johnston, Lester Johnston and George Johnston. Funeral services were held April 28, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, St. Johns Stake Center. I nterment followed services at the St. Johns Westside Cemetery.
