Lange, 74, a Yavapai cattleman for nearly half a century, died Sunday afternoon at 2:45 o'clock in the house of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Eckert, 324 Virginia street, after an illness of seven weeks, beginning with influenza, but later leading to other complications. In all probability ranchers who get word in time will gather here from miles around to attend the service Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Lester Ruffner Funeral Home chapel, followed by burial at the Mountain View cemetery. Llano county, Texas was his birth place September 20, 1862. In 1888 he came to Arizona to settle first at Tombstone, where he operated a freight outfit for a while. after which he came to Yavapai county to make his home since, first on one ranch then another until he finally settled in Walnut Grove, where his home had been for the 25 years prior to his demise. Surviving him, besides Mrs. Eckert, are his widow, Mrs. Mary Lange, who lived on the Walnut Grove ranch; five sons, Otto, Prescott, Walter, who is with a survey party at Grand Canyon, John of Walnut Grove ...... rest of the article is unreadable.
